The Struggles of Film

EXT. MOVING ALONG HOLLYWOOD BLVD - NIGHT.

Thursday night- cameras flash, fanboys and fangirls alike scream as we walk by. You step out of the limousine. You now approach the red carpet. Reporters swarm, fighting for the first question. An energetic man, mid 20s, in a slick blazer asks the first question.

                                                                                                                                                                                                     CUT TO:

INT. BEDROOM - MORNING.

You wake abruptly. You are disheartened to realize what you just experienced was a dream. You stand, looking at "The Board," a 4x4 corkboard full of horrible ideas. Sigh.

Like the new screenplay idea? Yeah, me neither. The filmmakers we look up to seem to know exactly what to do and when to do it. It makes you look at your work with the most self-conscious eye. Nothing you do will ever compare. However, we see the final product, not the years of crafting and preparation that went into it.

The best thing we did was watch our favorite filmmakers first films. Some were great! Others.... let's just say not so much. Among them were Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Robert Zemeckis, Tim Burton, Stanley Kubrick and Christopher Nolan. Not only can you see their style in its adolescence, but you see how much they've grown since then. Alas, there is hope! I could improve like them, but how do I get there?

The idea is to dream BIG, think small. Baby steps. It's a sprint not a marathon. You wouldn't try to run before you could crawl would you? NO! So get out there and work on the small idea, with the big picture in the back of your mind. If you look at the big picture too much, it will be too daunting and you will fail. With this in mind, you can achieve your goals, whatever they are!

                                                                                                                                                                                            CUT TO:

CUT TO BLACK.

END.

We've been so busy!

Hi! Hello!

We have been so incredibly busy the past several months finishing up production on Waking Brandon that we have failed to update our blog regularly. For that, I apologize. We are constantly thinking about you guys and what we can do to to involve you in our process and keep you up to date. I suggest liking us on Facebook for the absolute latest in our Physically Awkward world.

I am currently working on ideas for blogs to have a new entry to you guys at least once a week.

As always, thank you for the support.

Production on "Waking Brandon"

'Ello ladies and gents!

We are finishing up the final parts of pre-production for "Waking Brandon" and are beginning the final stage of casting. We will hopefully be holding auditions for several characters during next month's Backlot at the Heritage House.

The storyline for this film really excites us and we cannot wait to start production!

As always, if you have any questions or want to be involved with the process, just send us an email! (physicallyawkwardproductions@gmail.com)

Wanna get awkward?

As we've made more and more films, we've come across a big problem... We have only a limited number of crew at our disposal and need more people for the larger scale projects we have coming up.

So if anyone would like to be part of our team (crew, extras, or actors - short or long term) or have had experience with making films, acting, or tech work, please let us know!
We are specifically looking for someone with experience in sound - equipment, pre, post, etc.

For our up coming films we are also looking for actors (principle and extra work). We will be setting up auditions sometime in the near future, and will have dialogue for you to read. If you are interested and would like to get a jump on the competition, please contact us:

We can be reached through the website, via facebook (click here), or through our email (physicallyawkwardproductions@gmail.com). Whether you have experience or just love film and would like to be part of making movies in any way, your help would be much appreciated.

Let's get awkward!

Well guys... the results are in!

Well hello there!

After competing in our very first timed film project, we are elated to announce that our film received awards. You read that right, plural, a-w-a-r-d-s! Three to be exact.

Our submission to the 48 Hour Film Project, "Consequence," has been awarded Best Drama, Best Use of Character, and Best Score.

This project would not have been possible without the work of our following dear friends and fellow physically awkwarders:

 (In no particular order)

Aaron Crowell
Charlie Marczynski
Katlyn Barnes
Jack Lines
Christopher Gentle
Ben Kreps
Garrison Turner

A massive thanks goes to one Elizabeth Knox for all of her support and crafts services during the weekend!

This wouldn't have been possible without everyone listed above and all of our supporters who continue to push us forward.

Thank you!

Ryan and Austin

p.s. we will post the video next week so watch out for the link on our website, Facebook page, and Twitter.

Relaxing by the coast... Inspiration much?

Hey Guys!

Ryan and myself are off to the coast of Maine with his family for a week (can we all just take a moment to realize how amazing my friends are). The scenery and a little fresh air are sure to add a little fuel to our creativity banks. There is something so serene and peaceful about that place. No matter where you are, you feel at peace both within yourself and with others.

While we are there, the results for the 48 Hour FIlm Project will be released... that's just a tad bit nerve-racking.

A few nights out by the water writing is exactly what we need! Here is to a hopefully amazing trip and the inspiration it will bring!

Cheers!

48 Hour Film Project and new website

Hey guys! Thank you so much for visiting the new page!

Getting this website up and running is proving to be a true labor of love. Please bear with me as I try to get everything in order.

Speaking of order (disorder) we completed the 48 Hour Film Project for Nashville two weeks ago. The final product, "Consequence," was shown at the Belcourt Theatre in Nashville on Tuesday, July 31st. We unfortunately could not be there, but are anxiously awaiting the results, which will be announced at the awards ceremony on the sixth.

Hopefully we can get "Consequence" uploaded for you to check out ASAP!

Thanks for the support!
